Office of Student Care and Conduct
Our Mission
The Office of Student Care and Conduct (OSCC) works within the scope of the Dean of Students Office (DOSO) to promote a learning environment that is safe, positive, and in which the rights of all members of the campus community are respected. Supporting the larger mission of both Middle Tennessee State University and the Division of Student Affairs, we work with students in two significant ways: Student Care and Student Conduct.
Student Care
We provide proactive assistance and support to students by assessing, evaluating, and responding to reports about students of concern who may need support to manage their academic and social experience at the University. We oversee the University’s Campus Action Response and Engagement (CARE) team. We streamline support, provide a bridge to resources, and conduct outreach to students in need.
Student Conduct
We promote student learning, growth, and development by increasing awareness of the University’s expectations of behavior, holding students accountable for violations of these expectations, and developing educational sanctions designed to help students learn from their mistakes. We strive to help students at MTSU see both the immediate and long-term consequences of their behavior. We believe the disciplinary process is an educational tool in life-long learning. Our disciplinary process allows students the opportunity to learn from their mistakes while protecting the rights of all members of the university community.
